Think of Moffat and walking immediately springs to mind. Located on the Southern Upland Way and the Annandale Way, Moffat has long been a favourite of walkers and ramblers alike and makes the perfect base for a walking holiday. The Moffat Walking Festival in October may well be the highlight of the walking calendar but all year round the hills are alive with the sound of fell boots.
We are a 'rambler friendly' establishment and also have many leaflets for various grades of walks in and around Moffat.
The countryside surrounding Moffat is ideal for cyclists of all ages and levels. It can be as easy or as hard as you want it to be. Cycle along the gently undulating roads taking in the magnificent scenery or go 'off road' for the thrills and spills of true mountain biking.
Moffat acts as the perfect base camp from which to explore the world class cycling in the surrounding area. Moffat is ideally located within striking distance of the internationally acclaimed mountain biking centres of the 7 stanes project. These custom built centres provide a unique experience, allowing riders to hone their skills across diverse and flowing terrain.
Moffat is also connected to the national cycle network providing a large number of waymarked cycle routes for you to enjoy.
There is plenty of room at Seamore House for cycle storage and several cycle route guides are available.
