Golf

Being the home of golf, Scotland almost demands that every town has a golf club and Moffat obliges with style. Situated some 670 feet above sea level, Moffat Golf Club offers stunning panoramic views over the town and surrounding countryside. Not for the faint hearted, this course will test golfers of all abilities. For further info visit www.moffatgolfclub.co.uk

Visitors are most welcome and clubhouse facilities include locker rooms, dining facilities and two snooker tables.

There are, of course many other golf courses a short drive away and cheap golf can be found by contacting www.dumfriesandgalloway.co.uk

Golf equipment is available for use at Seamore House and should you require a partner, Allan is a member of Moffat G.C. and would be happy to oblige.

Walking & Rambling

Think of Moffat and walking immediately springs to mind. Located on the southern upland way it has long been a favourite of walkers and ramblers alike and makes the perfect base for a walking holiday. The Moffat Walking Festival in October may well be the highlight of the walking calendar but all year round the hills are alive with the sound of fell boots.

Make Tracks Walking Holidays organise self-guided walks on the Southern Upland Way, Scotland’s Coast to Coast path, which passes close to Moffat.

We are a 'rambler friendly' establishment and also have many leaflets for various grades of walks in and around Moffat.

Cycling

The countryside surrounding Moffat is ideal for cyclists of all ages and levels. It can be as easy or as hard as you want it to be. Cycle along the gently undulating roads taking in the magnificent scenery or go 'off road' for the thrills and spills of true mountain biking.

Moffat acts as the perfect base camp from which to explore the world class cycling in the surrounding area. Moffat is ideally located within striking distance of the internationally acclaimed mountain biking centres of the 7 stanes project. These custom built centres provide a unique experience, allowing riders to hone their skills across diverse and flowing terrain.

TrailTours Mountain Biking tours operate out of Moffat offering guided rides within the area. For further information, visit www.TrailTours.co.uk.

Moffat is also connected to the national cycle network providing a large number of waymarked cycle routes for you to enjoy.

There is plenty of room at Seamore House for cycle storage and several cycle route guides are available. We also have a gents, ladies and child's (9-12) bike available with helmets for guests use.
